An old favourite for Christmastime in Cayman (enjoyed particularly by expats and vacationers) is brunch at one of the major hotels. The Ritz Carlton, The Hyatt and The Westin all do fabulous champagne brunches with everything you could imagine. It’s great and fun and they are also ‘children friendly’. If you want more traditional local Caymanian cuisine try The Cracked Conch up in West Bay or The Beach Club Colony. They both overlook the turquoise waters of the Cayman Islands and are very enjoyable experiences. It beats cooking and having to wash up! In Cayman you can dine over looking the beautiful Caribbean Sea, and under the stars in several establishments. We are spoilt for choice with fine dining as well as casual family dining establishments. My favourites for waterfront dining are The Grand Old House which is in an historic plantation house in South Sound, and Fisherman’s Reef overlooking the North Sound in West Bay. Over recent years Cayman has attracted some fantastic international chefs as well as developed excellent local talent. We are truly fortunate as our culinary choices are almost endless and there is something to suit every pocket from exquisite dining at the Cayman Islands Ritz Carlton, to fun sushi at the popular Yoshi Sushi Restaurant on Seven Mile Beach, to good old American Breakfasts at Eats Diner on West Bay Road. Several bars arrange fun karaoke nights including the Hard Rock Café. Try The Attic and Triple Crown both on West Bay Road. You could also try Fidel Murphy’s Irish Pub. You’ll have to compete with some of our great local singing talent!! If you are staying at a hotel or SMB condo complex have your Concierge or Resort Manager give you his or her personal recommendations. I would personally check out some of the virtual 3 tours on this site so you can virtually visit those restaurants yourself before you arrive in Cayman and make up your own mine. You can then book online without her knowing a thing ……and really impress her!! Many of the local bars and restaurants have private dining rooms. The Brasserie in Cricket Square is a wonderful establishment. The interior is beautifully designed in plantation style and the restaurant is renowned for it fine cuisine, and excellent service. Everything at The Brasserie is very stylish and tasteful and I particularly enjoy their private dining room for our corporate events.
