The Cayman Islands host a number of major events throughout the year, and the Department of Tourism perform a wonderful job running and promoting these events. A recent major addition to the Cayman Islands social calendar is the annual Jazzfest, which in 2009 will see Alicia Keys play. The other major events in Cayman include Pirates Week - a huge Island wide festival celebrating the traditions and history of the Pirates of the Caribbean! This takes place in November every year. There is also Batabano and CayFest, late April, Early May annually.
Bizarrely, one the of the Caribbeans largest Cinco De Mayo celebrations happens in the Cayman Islands every year at the Hard Rock Cafe. And on the subject of eating, don't forget to check out when the annual Taste of Cayman celebration of food and drink is held.
