The Cayman Government provides education programs and institutions for pupils with particular behavioral or learning needs.
In addition to this, the Children and Youth Service (CAYS) Foundation runs two establishments for young people at risk. These cater for children in the Islands who are struggling academically, have behavioral problems, or are subject to a court order. The young people, aged 11-18, attend the Government high schools but are then resident in the homes, receiving 24 hour care and support. Programs include life and social skills, as well as vocational training in subjects such as woodwork, mechanics or construction.
