The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association (C.I.D.A.) is a non-profit organization. CIDA is the official Cayman Islands member of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), an organization of over 200 member associations in more than 165 countries. We welcome non diabetics & diabetics.

C.I.D.A. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to:
"Work towards a future without diabetes by creating awareness & providing education to our community; while improving the lives of diabetics and their families."
What we do

C.I.D.A is dedicated to helping raise awareness of diabetes & increase our community's knowledge of diabetes, as well as assist current pre-diabetics & diabetics with their vital need of self management.
By working with the International Diabetes Federation network, C.I.D.A is able to provide up to date info & education materials, contacts for health care professionals, as well as maintain an established backing which out sponsors and donors can trust!
We are actively working to develop our resource database in order to better serve our membership & overall community. We have also recently expanded to include the members of our Sister Islands' Branch in Cayman Brac. If you are a health care professional, wellness counselor/therapist or a fitness/nutrition expert who wishes to work with us, please contact us by email/phone!
Some of our community events & contributions include:
- Annual C.I.D.A 5k Walk/Run
- "World Diabetes Day" (WDD) celebrations & the global blue light monument challenge held annually on November 14
- Annual Primary schools' poster/art competition for WDD
-Donation of informational books on diabetes to every local primary school
-Participation in quarterly diabetes education course with public health
- Donation of blood analyzer/diabetes screening machines to Diabetic Clinic
- "Circle of Hope" monthly group town meetings
-Online outreach & awareness via Facebook fan page: Cayman Islands Diabetes Association
-Distribution of diabetes awareness items (bracelets, pins, t shirts, booklets, etc)

November is Diabetes Awareness Month!! Have your office/friends/family "Dress BLUE for C.I.D.A" on Nov 12, 2010!!
