Dr. Wong, Ivan

Dr. Wong is specialized in shoulder, hip and knee reconstruction.

Dr. Wong is an internationally renowned orthopaedic surgeon and leading authority on sports related orthopaedic surgery (hip, knee, shoulder).

Dr. Ivan Wong is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at Dalhousie University. He co-directs the Joint Preservation, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship program in Halifax, Canada.

He completed medical school at Dalhousie University and his orthopaedic residency at McMaster University. He then completed a fellowship with Dr. Stephen Snyder at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute. He received his Master's in Academic Medicine from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Wong is a certified fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ABOS), the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).

He is the current President of the Arthroscopy Association of Canada (AAC), is on the AANA Board of Directors, and is on the Shoulder Committee with the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), the Shoulder Committee for International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT), and is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES).

He is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Arthroscopy and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He has published over 140 peer reviewed papers, and presented at over 140 conferences worldwide. His current research is focused on improving patient outcomes with minimally invasive techniques in the shoulder, hip, and knee.
