Seven Mile Beach is the most popular and attractive area of the Cayman Islands. It is, as a result, the most highly developed and has some of the Islands’ best facilities. Most of Cayman’s luxury hotels and resorts are on Seven Mile Beach. It is also home to many residential resorts and vacation homes, condos and apartments. This is however still a public beach; it is possible to walk the entire length.
Seven Mile Beach was awarded "Caribbean’s Best Beach" by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine. This is no surprise to anyone who has visited it. It is famous for its long sandy beaches, palm trees waving gently in the background, and activities to suit anyone.
Seven Mile is a collection of beaches which stretches all the way from George Town to West Bay. It is actually only 5½ miles long, and is affected by coastal erosion. This is one of the best places in Cayman to watch the sun set. You may even see the famous "green flash" as it disappears beyond the horizon
If you sat down and designed a beach, you may well invent Seven Mile Beach. It has everything you could need. The facilities are generous; family-orientated playgrounds, clean, free restrooms and copious picnic tables. It is easy to find places to park and the area is home to many of the Island’s best shops.
If you’re looking for something more active, Seven Mile beach is host to every imaginable type of water sports activity. Tour operators, equipment hire shops and instructors are simple to find. In particular, there are great snorkeling spots offshore around the coral reefs. There is so much to do, you could never be bored on Seven Mile beach.
And as night falls, the area really comes to life. Bars, clubs and restaurants make this a focal point for the Island’s exciting night life.
There is an abundance of restaurants at Seven Mile Beach, from casual diners through to first class fine dining experiences. Many are linked to the individual hotels and resorts. There are also beach bars along the length of the coast. You don’t have to leave the area to find every kind of food, from Cayman favorites to international cuisine. If you are looking for DIY catering, open grilling is permitted on the beach.

Seven Mile Beach, like all beaches in Grand Cayman, is public up to the high water mark. No private property may extend past this mark onto the beach, according to the Island’s Land Adjudication Law.
